With over 30 years of pure rock’n’roll and a sound that harks back to the 70's heyday of The Faces, Stones, Slade and Mott The Hoople, the rocktastic Quireboy's have always remained true to their roots from the start.
The boy's mission is simply - to keep the spirit of good time rock ‘n’ roll alive and kicking into the 21st century. That is exactly what they have done.
Spike & the boys, with many studio albums to their name including ‘A Bit Of What You Fancy’ that hit #2 in the UK Charts and the stomping new ‘Twisted Love’ remain firm favorites of the UK rock scene as well as the band having significant success in the USA over the years.
Another band celebrating 30 years is the mighty FM with their absolutely iconic debut album “Indiscreet” just passing the 30 year mark and commemorated with an excellent new re-recording. If you missed it the first time around, buy-in-now!
With vocalist Steve Overland (who arguably has the very best voice in the business) and a formidable back catalogue, the band have played alongside some of the biggest names in the business such as Meat Loaf, Tina Turner, Thin Lizzy, Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon and Bon-Jovi (during their white hot ‘Slippery When Wet Tour’).
With recent Radio 2 coverage, fabulous recent albums and superb live shows including Download Festival and The Royal Albert Hall (alongside Heart), the mighty FM and their hook laden tunes remain a firm favorite whether live, on CD, or even vinyl.
Hailing from Glasgow, GUN formed 30 years ago and hit the Rock scene running with their monster debut album “Taking On The World”.
The album spawned many successful single releases in the UK including “Better Days” which subsequently landed them the first of many appearances on BBC’s Top Of The Pops as well as prestigious live shows alongside The Rolling Stones, Bon-Jovi and Def Leppard.
Although the band are probably best remembered for their majestic cover of Cameo’s “Word Up” that blasted in to the UK Top 10 single chart, GUN’s latest album “Frantic” is a real belter and yet another reminder that whether you are looking for the latest rock releases or looking at back catalogues, GUN will be there.
