PISKEY LED

Piskey Led are four young musicians who formed in Cardiff in late 2021; they showcase a highly entertaining and absorbing mixture of original and traditional music, influenced by the folk traditions of Cornwall, Northern England and Ireland. The personnel are Cornishwoman Katie Lower on flute, whistles and piano, Lancastrian Josh Goodey on double bass, harmonium and mandocello and two Ulstermen, guitarist James Bower and Chris Mercer on mandolin, bouzouki, harmonicas and bodhrán; the band has played at a number of Welsh festivals. Piskey Led’s debut album is now available on all streaming platforms, and has received airtime across the UK and North America, on shows such as BBC Celtic HeartbeatBlues and Roots RadioBBC Introducing, BGFMFolk Friday Radio, and the Irish & Celtic Music and Is This Thing On? podcasts. They also played at Purbeck Valley Folk Festival and The Growing Wild Festival, and were nominated by Radio Wigwam for Folk Artist of the Year 2023.

With set lists that span folk to floor fillers, party tunes to punk, we rely on our experience as musicians to pull out all the stops so we can ensure that everyone has a great time.

They’re fun, lively and played all the best songs to get our guests dancing and enjoying themselves!

We know that there’s so much more responsibility on a band than just playing music. You need to win over the crowd, you need to toy with their emotions and then make them dance their pants off. We like to think we can do that and have fun ourselves too
